EU Regulation 2016/679 and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, set out the rules for protecting individuals with regard to the processing of their personal data. This notice has been drafted in accordance with the applicable legislation and may be updated following the introduction of new regulations. We therefore invite you to visit this section periodically.
This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the Website. The Controller is not responsible for the data processing practices of third-party websites accessible through cookies or links on the homepage.
Under the law, personal data processing is based on the principles of fairness, lawfulness, transparency, accuracy, purpose and storage limitation, data minimisation, integrity, protection of user privacy and safeguarding of user rights.
The Controller is committed to observing these principles and informs you that, except where the law requires your explicit consent, by browsing this Website and providing personal data you accept and agree to be bound by the conditions and terms set out in this notice. Consent to data processing may be withdrawn at any time by contacting the addresses indicated above.
The Controller will process this data in compliance with applicable regulations, on the assumption that the data relates to the user or to third parties who have expressly authorised the user to provide it on the basis of a lawful legal ground. In such cases, the user acts as an independent data controller, assuming all related legal obligations and responsibilities. The user therefore grants the broadest possible indemnity against any claim, demand, or request for damages arising from data processing carried out through their use of the Website in breach of applicable regulations.
If you are under 16 years of age, your consent is only valid if given or authorised by the person holding parental responsibility, in accordance with Article 8 of EU Regulation 2016/679. For individuals located in Italy, consent is also valid under the same conditions for persons aged 14 and over.

1. DATA CONTROLLER
The Data Controller is the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. The Controller is also responsible for security-related matters.
For this Website, the Data Controller is SCATTOLIN ABRASIVI SRL, as specified above. For any questions or to exercise your rights, you may contact the Controller at: info@scattolinabrasivi.it
2. TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED
“Personal data” means any information that could directly or indirectly enable the identification of users.
a) Browsing data
The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this Website automatically collect, during normal use, certain personal data whose transmission is inherent in the use of internet communication protocols.
This category includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers and devices used by visitors, URI/URL addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file received in response, the numerical code indicating the server’s response status (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computing environment.
Such data, which is necessary for the use of web services, is also processed in order to:
- obtain statistical information on the use of services (most visited pages, number of visitors by time slot or day, geographic origin, etc.);
- monitor the correct functioning of the services offered.
b) Data provided by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of messages to the Controller’s email address, private messages sent by users to the Controller’s social media profiles, and the completion and submission of the contact form on the Website, entails the collection of the sender’s contact data (necessary to respond) as well as any personal data included in such communications.
With regard to the “Contact” form, the provision of the requested data is not based on any legal or contractual obligation. Providing such data is therefore optional; however, failure to complete mandatory fields will prevent the Controller from responding to the request.
The data retention period ends once the requested service has been fulfilled, unless a contract is entered into as a result. In that case, data will be retained for ten years from the date of the contract, for the purposes of legal protection in the event of disputes arising from the contract.
c) Cookies and other tracking systems
No cookies are used for user profiling, nor are any other tracking methods employed.
For details on the types of cookies used on this Website, please refer to the Cookie Policy below.
3. PURPOSES OF PROCESSING
Unless otherwise specified in relation to individual data processing activities within the Website, the general purposes of processing are as follows:
a) responding to requests for information and, more generally, contacting the user;
b) fulfilling pre-contractual and contractual obligations in connection with established legal relationships, including those formed remotely;
c) complying with legal obligations;
d) managing administrative, accounting and tax requirements;
e) archiving, hosting and managing the Website’s backend infrastructure;
f) interacting with social networks and external platforms;
g) statistics and cookie management;
h) preventing and detecting any misuse of the Website or any fraudulent activity, and enabling the Controller to protect its rights in legal proceedings.
4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
The legal bases for the processing of personal data provided by the user while browsing the Website are:
- Legal obligation to which the Controller is subject, pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, with regard to obligations imposed by law, regulations, EU legislation or an order of the competent authority;
- Performance of a contract to which the data subject is party, or the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at the data subject’s request, pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, with regard to data collected to respond to user enquiries submitted through the contact form;
- Consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, for the use of any profiling cookies present on the Website;
- Legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for the management of the Website’s backend infrastructure, the management of technical cookies on the Website, and more generally for the exercise of the Controller’s rights in the context of the information society.
5. DATA RETENTION PERIOD
Data processed to fulfil legal obligations will be retained until such obligations have been met, and in any case for the period necessary to demonstrate compliance. Data processed for contractual purposes will be retained until such purposes have been fulfilled; where a contract has been entered into or pre-contractual negotiations have taken place, data will be retained for ten years from the date of the contract in order to allow for judicial or out-of-court protection and to demonstrate the proper fulfilment of contractual obligations.
Where the processing of personal data is necessary for the pursuit of a legitimate interest of the Controller, personal data will be retained until such interest is satisfied or until the data subject objects, in the manner indicated below.
Data processed for the purposes of abuse and fraud prevention will be retained for the period strictly necessary to enable the Controller to defend its rights in legal proceedings.
6. PROCESSING METHODS
On this Website, data is collected electronically and processed primarily by means of electronic tools, ensuring the adoption of appropriate security measures for the data processed and guaranteeing its confidentiality.
This Website does not employ any automated decision-making process for the purposes of commercial profiling (a targeted marketing technique involving the collection and processing of user data in order to understand their choices and behaviour, with a view to categorising interests into increasingly specific “profiles” or homogeneous groups based on behaviour or characteristics).
7. RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA
The categories of recipients who may become aware of your personal data during or after the performance of the contract include:
a) entities that process data in fulfilment of specific legal obligations;
b) external consultants providing services related to the purposes indicated above, appointed in writing and given specific written instructions regarding the processing of personal data;
c) entities with which interaction is necessary in order to deliver the requested services (e.g. hosting providers, etc.);
d) entities required for the provision of services offered by the Website, including, by way of example, the sending of emails and analysis of Website performance, who typically act as data processors on behalf of the Controller;
e) individuals authorised by the Controller to process personal data as necessary to carry out activities closely related to the provision of services, who have undertaken confidentiality obligations or are subject to an appropriate legal duty of confidentiality (e.g. employees and collaborators of the Controller);
f) in general, any public or private entities to which disclosure is necessary for the proper and complete fulfilment of the purposes indicated. Users’ personal data may be disclosed to judicial authorities and law enforcement agencies only where required by law, and may be used by the Controller for the purpose of defending its rights in legal proceedings, where strictly necessary.
8. SCOPE OF DATA CIRCULATION
The processing of personal data relating to the Website’s services takes place at the Controller’s premises and is carried out only by personnel authorised to process such data. The data collected will not be disseminated. However, in order to effectively deliver the requested service, certain data will be shared with external parties appointed to carry out specific tasks on behalf of the Controller (e.g. hosting, housing, cloud providers, email service providers for the publication of the Website and management of email/PEC services, web agencies, marketing consultants, professionals, etc.).
The Website is hosted at a data centre located in Europe.
Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
For further information, please contact the Controller at: info@scattolinabrasivi.it
The Controller is committed to protecting the security of personal data by adopting all necessary IT and physical measures. No security system can guarantee absolute protection; therefore, except in cases of wilful misconduct or negligence, the Controller shall not be liable for unauthorised access to its systems by third parties. For this reason, users are advised to ensure that their computers are equipped with adequate software for the protection of data transmission over the internet (e.g. up-to-date antivirus software) and that their internet service provider has adopted appropriate measures for secure data transmission.
9. USER RIGHTS UNDER EU REGULATION 2016/679
Article 13(2) and Articles 15 to 22 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) set out users’ rights.
The Controller wishes to inform you of the existence of:
- the right to request access to personal data (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16 GDPR), restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR), or to object to processing on legitimate grounds (Article 21 GDPR), as well as the right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR);
- the right to request erasure (Article 17 GDPR), anonymisation or blocking of data processed in breach of the law, including data whose retention is not necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently processed.

COOKIE POLICY
The Privacy Policy is an integral part of this Cookie Policy, including the rights that the user may exercise by contacting the addresses already indicated.
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), and in accordance with the provisions of the Italian Data Protection Authority’s resolution of 8 May 2014 on simplified arrangements for the cookie notice and consent, published in the Official Gazette No. 126 of 3 June 2014, and all subsequent clarifications, the Controller hereby provides its Cookie Policy.
The purpose of this Cookie Policy is to provide the user with all the information required under Articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR, as well as a specific and detailed description of the characteristics and purposes of cookies installed on the Website, with the option for the user to select or deselect which cookies to accept.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small strings of code that websites visited by the user send to the user’s device (usually to the browser: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc.), where they are stored and then retransmitted upon each subsequent visit to the same website by the same user.
Why are they useful?
Through the use of cookies, the Website recognises the user’s device, which improves the browsing experience. Among the various purposes of cookies are enabling efficient navigation between pages, remembering preferred sites, storing language preferences, and more.
How can cookies be selected or disabled?
By modifying your browser settings, cookies can be restricted or blocked. For cookie management, please refer to your browser’s instruction manual or follow the guidance provided by your browser using the links below (for the most common browsers):
- Explorer: https://support.microsoft.com/it-it/help/17442/windows-internet-explorer-delete-manage-cookies

- Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=it

If you use more than one browser, the cookie deletion procedure must be carried out for each one. If you use different devices (such as smartphones or tablets), please refer to your device’s instruction manual for information on uninstalling cookies.
Please note that choosing to block cookies may impair or prevent the proper functioning of the Website, as some cookies are strictly necessary for navigation.
What types of cookies exist?
Cookies are classified into several types:
By duration, a cookie may be a “session” cookie (automatically deleted when the browser is closed) or a “persistent” cookie (active until its expiry date or until deleted by the user).
By origin, a cookie may be a “first-party” cookie (sent to the browser directly by the website being visited) or a “third-party” cookie (sent to the browser by other websites, not the one being visited).
By purpose, a cookie may be “technical” or a “profiling” cookie. A “technical” cookie includes navigation cookies, essential cookies, performance cookies, process cookies or security cookies. Functionality cookies, language preference cookies and session state cookies are also “technical”. Statistical-analytical first-party cookies, or third-party cookies with IP masking and no data cross-referencing, are likewise considered “technical”. The installation of “technical” cookies does not require your prior consent. A “profiling” cookie, on the other hand, includes third-party statistical-analytical cookies that use the full IP address, as well as advertising cookies, tracking cookies and conversion cookies. The installation of “non-technical” cookies requires your prior consent.
Which cookies does this Website use?
Technical cookies
This Website uses “technical” cookies, without which certain operations would be very complex or impossible to perform. Technical cookies do not require the user’s prior consent for their installation or for reading the information they contain.
These are strictly necessary technical cookies that enable efficient navigation on the Website and the use of its essential features, such as remembering previous actions.
Blocking these cookies may impair the browsing experience and prevent the provision of certain essential services.
This Website also uses functionality technical cookies that improve the browsing experience by storing user preferences, such as language, name and location. These cookies may also be used to proactively provide services or to prevent the user from receiving services they have previously declined. Blocking these cookies will not impair the browsing experience; however, the user will not be able to benefit from the useful services they offer.
This Website may also have installed technical cookies for storing consent. We recommend not blocking these cookies, which allow the Website operator to record the user’s consent.
Third-party cookies
This Website also uses third-party cookies, some session-based and some persistent.
Third-party analytical technical cookies installed on this Website allow information to be collected about how users interact with the site, analysing the number of pages visited, time spent on the Website, most visited pages and any other events during navigation, such as errors on visited pages. These cookies enable the Website operator to obtain statistical data on browsing and, on this basis, improve the services offered to the user. The “analytical” technical cookies used on this Website do not involve the processing of personal data (such as the user’s name and surname, or IP address) since data is collected in aggregate form for purely statistical purposes, and the Website operator has adopted appropriate tools to reduce the identifying power of the analytical cookies used (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address).
Third-party cookies used on this Website are not directly controlled by the Website operator. To disable them or obtain further information, the user should follow the procedures indicated below:
- By visiting http://www.youronlinechoices.com/it/, the user can obtain further information about third-party cookies and cookies stored on their device. The user can proceed to disable all or some of these cookies by clicking the following link: Your Choices.
